Guidelines for a Pleasant Stay At Pen Yr Orsedd

Our guidelines are designed to promote a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all campers.

Please take a moment to review them before settling in.

General Behaviour

  • All guests must act respectfully and responsibly. This includes refraining from excessive alcohol consumption, avoiding offensive language, and being mindful of their surroundings. Unauthorised behaviour may result in removal from the site without a refund.
  • Respect the privacy and space of other campers. Avoid walking through occupied pitches.
  • Keep noise to a minimum, especially between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am.
  • No loud music after 10:00 pm.
  • Large gatherings should be kept within your pitch and monitored for noise levels.
  • If you experience any issues with other campers, please get in touch with the site staff rather than approaching the other campers directly.

Arrival and Departure

  • Check-in time is usually between 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Confirm with the individual site. Upon arrival, please check in at the reception. You will receive a site map and any specific information you need.
  • Pitches must be vacated by 11:00 am.
  • No pitching of tents, caravans or motorhomes after 10:00 pm.
  • Early arrivals are not permitted unless agreed with the site.
  • If you arrive after 8:00 p.m., notify the campsite to arrange a late check-in. A late arrival fee may apply.
  • Please notify site staff if you plan to depart earlier than the scheduled check-out time.

Vehicle and Traffic Rules

  • The site speed limit is 5 mph.
  • No sleeping in vehicles unless they are designed for camping.
  • No dirt bikes, motorised scooters or quad bikes unless required for mobility.
  • Please ensure your vehicle is parked in a way that does not obstruct emergency vehicle access.
  • Electric vehicle charging is forbidden.

Pitch and Space Allocation

  • Pitches are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis unless booked in advance.
  • Keep vehicles, awnings and furniture within the designated pitch area.
  • A gap of at least 6 metres must be maintained between adjacent units for fire safety.
  • Please familiarise yourself with your pitch boundaries. If you are unsure, please ask a member of staff.
  • Any additional structures, such as gazebos, must be approved by site staff.
  • Ensure tent pegs are placed within your assigned pitch area.

Fire and Safety Regulations

  • No open fires are permitted except in designated fire pits.
  • Disposable barbecues must be raised off the ground and fully extinguished before disposal.
  • Fireworks and Chinese lanterns are not permitted.
  • Fire lanes must be kept clear.
  • Only gas stoves that are purpose-built are permitted.
  • Familiarise yourself with the location of fire extinguishers and emergency assembly points.
  • Be aware of fire risks during dry or windy conditions.
  • If using gas appliances, ensure you have a working carbon monoxide alarm.
  • First aid kit available from main house.

Sanitation and Waste Disposal

  • Dispose of grey water (sink and shower waste) only in the designated facilities.
  • Empty toilet waste into the provided disposal unit, not in general toilets.
  • The freshwater hose must not be used for toilet canisters.
  • Use the bins provided for waste and recycling. Please separate your waste and follow the recycling guidelines provided.
  • Large waste items must be removed from the site.
  • Greywater must be disposed of at the designated greywater disposal point. It should not be disposed of on the ground.
  • Please keep your pitch and communal areas tidy.

Pets and Animal Control

  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
  • Clean up after pets and properly dispose of waste.
  • Check site policies for any breed restrictions.
  • Pets are not allowed in communal facilities.
  • Please ensure your pets do not disturb other campers with excessive barking.
  • Please be mindful of local wildlife and avoid feeding them.

Facilities and Communal Areas

  • Shared facilities such as showers, toilets, fridges and microwaves must be left clean after use.
  • Follow any curfews related to facility usage as directed by the site.
  • Laundry and dishwashing are to be carried out in designated areas only.
  • Please adhere to the posted facility usage hours.
  • Report any lost or found items to the main house.

Children’s Supervision

  • Parents and guardians must supervise children at all times.
  • Ball games should not be played near pitches; use the designated play areas.
  • Climbing on fences or other unauthorised structures is not permitted.

Emergencies and Assistance

  • Report any accidents or incidents to site staff immediately.
  • For medical or security assistance, contact campsite staff.
  • Emergency contact numbers are posted at the main house.
